Hello friends,
I am very sorry that you received two news letters this morning, Robin was so excited about sharing his story that he jumped on my keyboard before I had finished editing and pressed send.
I hope you are having a lovely summer. I cant believe it is August already, this year is flying by!

Since I last wrote, I have moved house which has been very exciting and busy but my life is currently packed away in a stack of boxes in the garage, so please excuse me if this newsletter is a little shorter. I just couldn't resist writing to you.
Here is my sketch for the fall window. I want to create a detailed miniature scene with lots of little creatures celebrating the autumn.

I started off by making a little structure for Harold out of foil and wire, then slowly, I added modeling clay and built him up in layers.

Here he is so far, I haven't baked him yet as I would like to make his belly a little rounder. Once he is finished, I will paint him with oils and add some fabric and a little pair of glasses so he can see more clearly.

Our new garden is delightfully overgrown, and I found these huge dried plants that I am going to use in the scene. When I saw them, it felt like discovering treasure!

I'm off to paint the walls of my new studio and start setting things up. I promise to show you pictures next time. And now I will pass you over to two very fine birds who are always up to something.

Well, hello again, I hope you are enjoying the sun as much as I am. There's nothing quite like a little dust bath in the cool earth on a hot August day. You should try it—it's pure heaven! Still no word from Sarah. We check the mail every morning, sometimes twice, and I am still holding out hope for a little trinket from the Paris markets to grace the Rosebush, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. As the weather has been so lovely, we have taken to dining outside. I had intended to move back to the Rosebush but to be honest, the beds in the house are so much more comfortable, and who can resist indoor plumbing and a constant supply of cake?
Yesterday, Robin woke me up early. He was all in a dither because he thought that a patch of sky had fallen onto the field below our house. Well, I thought he was quite mad but went over to see for myself, and low and behold, my bleary eyes did indeed spot something quite astonishing. I'm going to pass the story over to him because he's dying to tell you, and Jaynes is down in the kitchen making some breakfast breads, so I'm a little distracted.
Don't spare the treats!

Hello everyone, we are here in the summer, and it's quite warm, and now my chest feathers have grown back. I don't need to wear my waistcoat anymore, so Jayne helped me to take it off yesterday, and I feel like a new bird. Anyway, it's been very exciting around here because last Tuesday I was looking out of the bedroom window in the morning and I saw a big patch of pale blue on the ground and it looked like some of the sky had fallen down, but there were no clouds in it. After breakfast, we all went down to look; I was a bit frightened because if it was the sky and the weather changed, there might be a ground storm, and I wasn't sure if it started raining, the raindrops might even go up instead of down, and then my umbrella wouldn't work. When we got there, it wasn't the sky at all; instead, it was a field of blue flowers. It's really true that some flowers are blue! I used my camera and took some photographs. I have some other photographs of blue flowers I would like to show to you, too, but the film is black and white, so you have to use your mind's eye to see the colour. What is your favourite color? Oh, I have to go now because Quentin can smell cinnamon bread, so it's time to head off to the kitchen, which is fun because I get to slide down the banister. Thank you for reading this Robin
