Did you know that I am going to write letters to you? Quentin says he will help me with my spelling, and he gave me a thimble of blue ink to dip my feather in. Also, I have a box of coloured pencils, so I can make pictures of all the things I see.

Dear Friend
One late summer afternoon, not so long ago, Quentin, Robin and I were sitting in the kitchen drinking tea and having a wonderful chat, when Quentin mentioned that his cousin twice removed had started a letter club for local pheasants in his area, and that it had proved to be rather popular.
This simple statement led to a whirlwind of ideas. Before long, Robin had his crayons out, Quentin was busy writing, and before the sun had set, a new idea was born:
A monthly letter from our home to yours, where we can share all the wonderful things that go on in our strange little world.
I have been assured by my friends that they will remain dedicated to their new enterprise, and although I fear the kitchen table may never be clear again, I am very excited to share our letters with you.

My writing slope is stocked with parchment paper. I have ordered a new bottle of fancy green ink and today I made a special quill pen from one of my finest tail feathers. Now all I need is a slice of seed cake to sustain me and I'm all set.
I’ve set up a little table next to the window that overlooks the lane where I can write. It has lovely light, and I can see the passersby. The hedgerows have such lovely stories to tell.
Greetings! Traveling with the Circus is the finest life there is. There’s something new around every corner and the people we meet! I’m excited to share our vagabond adventures with you, my friend.
