Hello friends,
This month's newsletter is a little different, as I'm writing it on a chilly Sunday morning, sitting in our little shop on Stonegate.

I hope you are well. I'm tucked behind the counter with a mug of chai tea, and the heater under the counter is on, so it’s lovely and warm. Today is Marathon Day, and it was so inspiring to see the river of people running down the streets of York, cheered on by their friends and families, as I made my way to work this morning. Behind my desk is a little corkboard where I pin my sketches; I thought you might like to see it.

This month has been very busy, we sent out the October Letter from Rookscroft, and we're working on a lovely one for November. Robin has his pencils out, and Quentin has discovered a wonderful clue about his family in the attic.
Along with working on the letters, we have been designing the new area for the shop and bought wood on Friday so we can start putting it all together. I can't wait to share the progress with you :).

I've also almost finished The Pocket Guide to Rookscroft, a fully illustrated little book featuring all the characters and places we have visited so far, along with a bit of the house's history. I've wanted to make this little book for so long, and now I'm almost finished and can't wait to share it with you. Here's a test cover I made. It still needs some work, but it will be ready soon.

Quentin and Robin wrote their little greetings to you yesterday, I'll post them below,

Well hello again! I'm avoiding the kitchen today because it smells like overripe pumpkin; I'll let Robin explain the details... This morning, I'm writing to you from the Library. It looks like a very nice day outside, so I might take a little stroll around the garden in my new stalking cape and see who I bump into. I'm rather hoping to see Vernon again, as my hat seems to have sprung a leak and I hate getting my head wet.
Oh, I'd better hand you over to Robin. I see a dark cloud approaching over the mountain, and I don't want to get caught out in a downpour....You know what that does to my feathers.
Toodle pip, beak up and don’t spare the treats!
Quentin

It’s me here, your friend Robin, and I'm sorry, but I’m a bit sticky again, this time its from my new home, which is a pumpkin house on the shelf in the kitchen. Jayne made it for me a few days ago, and Quentin says its getting a bit long in the tooth. It is a bit squelchy under my toes, but Jayne put a little carpet on the floor, and she says I can go in there today and after that we will take it outside.
I took a picture to share with you, if you were here and small enough to fit inside, I would love to show you around. I have to go now so I can finish my picture for the November letter.
I hope you get lots of treats for Halloween, I especially hope someone makes you a nice red candy apple because they always make me happy, and I think they will make you happy too.
Robin
